Ariel Hyre, PhD.

Analyst

Ariel joined CEV first as an intern in 2022, then stayed on as an Analyst focusing on the scientific aspects of diligence. They have worked on greenhouse gas analyses and research projects, including a review of the polymers sector to support and expand the team’s knowledge.

Ariel’s technical experience ranges from synthetic chemistry to microfluidics. They received a Bachelor’s Cum Laude with high honors in Chemistry from Brandeis University in 2013 and immediately began a doctoral program at Boston University, where they were awarded the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship in 2014. While at BU they taught and mentored undergraduates, co-authored four papers, and earned their Ph.D. in 2020 with a doctoral thesis on Computational Studies in Inorganic Chemistry.

Following a COVID pivot, Ariel earned a Master’s in Public Policy from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management with a concentration in Environmental Justice. Over the summer of 2022 they were a Fellow with the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund before joining CEV. They graduated for the last time in May 2023, but intend to never stop learning.
