At Clean Energy Ventures, Mr. Dillon leads our expansion strategy and manages the functional operations of the firm. He also acts as senior marketing advisor and interim-CMO to our portfolio companies to support marketing strategy and growth planning.
Prior to Clean Energy Ventures, Ted held several roles at marketing consulting firm Captains of Industry, most recently as Managing Director where he oversaw the firm’s profitability, drove business development, and led new strategic initiatives. During his tenure at Captains of Industry he drove brand and marketing development for companies such as First Wind, innogy, BlueWave Solar, MIT Sloan, Apex Clean Energy, DNV GL, Vionx Energy, MIT Industrial Liaison Program and numerous startups. Prior to his time at Captains of Industry, Ted worked in the film and television industry.
Ted is a Mentor for the Cleantech Open Northeast, and serves as the Marketing/Communications subcommittee chair for the Browning the Greenspace Initiative, seeking to support and grow diversity into the clean energy ecosystem.
Outside of work Ted is on the committee Ipswich Municipal Electric Light, Committee Chairman for the Boston chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Ted is—most importantly—a husband, father, and perpetual dog trainer.
Ted Dillon joined Clean Energy Ventures in late 2019. He has an Executive Certificate from MIT Sloan in Management and Leadership, and a BA in Film Studies from Boston College with germane work in Physics and Computer Science.
