Following the success of our second fund, we are continuing to grow our team globally and are excited to welcome our new Manager of Impact Measurement & Management, Saurabh Kumar, who will lead the expansion of our efforts to evaluate, monitor and improve impact and ESG within the firm and across our portfolio.
Saurabh will play a key role in building transparent impact frameworks and ESG practices that advance Clean Energy Ventures and our portfolio companies. He will work with our Community Manager to advance the firm’s ESG practices; with the investment team to evolve our impact measurement and evaluation during diligence; and, he will design and implement programming that meets the firm’s early-stage climate tech investments where they are, working to embed impact and responsible business practices within the organizations as they grow.
“As the impact investing and ESG community continues to evolve, expanding and enhancing our own practices is critical for us to continue to lead the industry on these topics, and ultimately find and grow responsible, world-changing companies,” said Clean Energy Ventures Chief Operating Officer, Ted Dillon. “We are incredibly lucky to welcome Saurabh to our team and believe his experience in impact assessment, framework development, and planning will be instrumental in the expansion of our practices and ultimately in our long-term success. ”
Saurabh’s career has been guided by his passion for sustainability. Prior to joining CEV, Saurabh was an Analyst on Energy Impact Partners’ award-winning Impact & Sustainability team and a Research Assistant at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where he analyzed the market penetration of sustainability-marketed consumer goods.
“As one of the leading climate tech VCs today, CEV’s science-based approach to impact investing has played a role in setting a new standard for the broader climate tech ecosystem,” said Saurabh. “I look forward to leveraging my knowledge of impact measurement and reporting at CEV to lead the development of impact and ESG strategies that will continue to position us and our portfolio companies as leaders.”
