She is a Managing Partner at Clean Energy Ventures, based in the firm's London office, where she leads European investment activity.

Before joining CEV, Aruna was a Venture Partner at Extantia Capital, a venture capital firm backing climate pioneers, where she designed a €500 million European growth equity strategy to address the capital gap facing climate technologies. From 2022 to 2025, she was a Managing Director and founding team member at Just Climate, the climate investment platform established by Generation Investment Management, which raised a $1.5 billion inaugural fund. There she led growth equity investments in companies deploying first-of-a-kind projects in the energy, industrial and mobility sectors, and facilitated more than $100 million in additional co-investment capital from LPs.

From 2018 to 2021, Aruna was a Venture Director at Climate Investments, the $1 billion+ fund backed by the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative's member companies, where she provided early-stage financing to companies reducing the carbon footprint of the energy and industrial sectors. Earlier, she spent seven years as a Principal at the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF), a $300 million fund making program-related investments for the Open Society Foundations. Based in New York and Johannesburg, she led impact investments in financial services, agribusiness and logistics businesses across sub-Saharan Africa, and oversaw SEDF's LP positions in emerging fund managers including LeapFrog Investments and IPDEV 2. During her time in sub-Saharan Africa, she also served as interim CFO of PEG Africa, a pay-as-you-go off-grid household solar company in West Africa that was later acquired by Bboxx.

Aruna began her career in investment banking at Credit Suisse, in the Global Energy Group, where she focused on project finance in the power and utilities sector. She later joined Moelis & Company as an associate, advising on mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. Across her banking career, she worked on the execution of more than $17 billion of transactions.

Her former board and observer roles include Stegra, Ascend Elements, Svante, METRON, Econic Technologies, 75F (acquired by Carrier) and DSM Corridor Group (acquired by African Infrastructure Investment Managers).

She holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics with First Class Honours from McGill University. Originally from Mauritius, Aruna is an avid traveler and has lived in eight countries.
