Team update! We are glad to welcome Stasha Burpee, MBA, as our new Manager of Impact Measurement and Management (IMM). In this role, Stasha will lead CEV’s impact and ESG practice, working with the investment team to run climate impact and ESG assessments during due diligence, and own the development of the firm’s emissions reduction potential tools for early-stage climate tech startups. She will also manage ESG reporting, including data collection from portfolio companies, regulatory compliance, and CEV’s annual Impact Report, and will work directly with founders to help them refine and realize the climate mitigation potential of their technologies.
Stasha joins CEV from Ramboll, where she was Senior Lead Consultant on the decarbonization team, leading annual greenhouse gas inventories for corporate clients and private equity portfolio companies, running the firm’s voluntary reporting program, and drafting climate transition plans. Earlier, as an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellow at Ross Stores, she focused on scope 3 inventory development. She brings more than a decade of professional experience, with the last four years focused on carbon accounting and quantitative climate assessment.
“My background is in corporate sustainability consulting, where the most common pushback was that the technologies to make more sustainable choices don’t exist or are not yet competitive. Stasha serves on the City of Tacoma’s Climate and Sustainability Commission for the 2024 to 2027 term. She holds an MBA in Corporate Sustainability with a Carbon Management Certificate from Colorado State University and a BS in Public Relations from West Virginia University, and lives in Tacoma, Washington.
